about

Burdy is back for his second release on Filtered Deluxe with the ‘The G Hell’ - an album featuring three new original tracks, and four remixes taken from the outstanding album, Satellite.

‘The G Hell’ is an accountancy pun - that’s right, Accountant humor … I bet you weren’t expecting that! A little-known fact about Burdy is that he is a qualified Accountant, as well as being an imaginative Producer & DJ.

This collection opens with three new original compositions from Burdy, evolving the sound scape from the Satellite album.

‘Whomp!’ is funky slow-mo house jam, oozing jazz licks and an uplifting vibe to take you through the summer heat.

‘Where Did You Fail?’ blends drum machines, jazz rides, synth leads and ethereal vocals in a swirl of sound reminiscent of sunlight breaking through a smoke-filled room.

‘Dips & Humps’ takes the listener through a multitude of instruments - from stabbed cellos to whimsical synth lines, latin piano, acoustic guitar riffs and vocal swirls, all the while underpinned by a liquid groove and deep bass hook. It’s unquestionably funky!

Next are four remixes from the album Satellite. Each one a unique take on the original track, each different from the other, and each dripping in originality.

First, KNOWONE tackles ‘Murder Hornets’ by utilizing incredible pest control to wrestle the beast to the ground! This remix is a journey, and KNOWONE has completed a masterpiece that includes live instrumentation, with the addition of new vocals into the track the nods its head to the original, while shaping its own path.

Next is James Hayford’s version of ‘Give’r’. The remix is slowed down from the original 116 bpm, creating a spaced out dub scape that will leave the listener in a state of mesmerizing bliss - a perfect companion for any 4:20.

'Proton Dub’ receives the Ricanstruction treatment from Filtered Deluxe label head, Stereo 77.
Exercise caution, as this remix will blow some woofers with its deep, dubbed out rhythms that bring back fond memories of the Organic Grooves team from New York. It must be all that water he’s been drinking since moving north from Florida!

Bringing the album to a close, Omegaman and Lakeshore present a uniquely cinematic live version of ‘Doom’s Day Morning’. This remix features a journey from Canada to Australia, as the two masterminds collaborate to create a gorgeously produced live rhythm section, with additional vocals that offer an exclusive vibe to the track.

‘The G Hell’ is one hell of a journey through space and time, taking in rhythms and sounds from multiple genres and geographies that blend into one delicious recipe. Definitely much more palatable than the regular path of being an Accountant! Enjoy!
